Jaime Murray is now married to Bernie Cahill in a small ceremony in Bali before leaving for their honeymoon at the Amandari resort in Ubud. Murray and Cahill became engaged in December after an interesting proposal.
The British actress, who also starred on Dexter, married the entertainment executive after nearly three years together. Cahill requested the help of an airline flight’s cabin crew to make his marriage proposal. He snuck onto her flight from Toronto to Los Angeles in disguise before surprising the actress hours later by getting down on one knee.
“It was pretty epic and magical,” Murray told People magazine. The 36-year-old currently stars as an alien in the SyFy network’s Defiance, and is previously known for her work on Dexter. Cahill is a partner at ROAR, an entertainment management company.
Murray wore her hair down and straight. Her dress had spaghetti straps and was made with cream colored satin that had rhinestone details. Cahill wore a white shirt with no tie while the two exchanged gold bands.
She was named after Lindsay Wagner’s character Jaime Sommers in The Bionic Woman. Just before taking her A Levels, Murray was diagnosed with dyslexia. She briefly studied philosophy and psychology at the London School of Economics, but dropped out to train at the Drama Centre London, graduating in 2000.
Murray’s first taste of stardom was miming the lyrics in the 1996 original video of Stretch & Vern’s dance track “I’m Alive”. Some of her early television appearances included minor guest roles in BBC One’s Casualty, The Bill, Love Soup, and ShakespeaRe-Told: The Taming of the Shrew. She also starred as Stacie Monroe in Hustle from series 1 until series 4.
