Jamie Lee Curtis went incognito as she attended fight-game tournament extravaganza Evo 2015 in Las Vegas this weekend. She was actually dressed as Vega from Street Fighter with hubby Christopher Guest and their two kids.
Curtis, 56, and her family either didn’t want to cause a stir with their famous faces, or they’re just that into gaming. Jamie was dressed in full costume with the famous mask and outfit.
“Grad trip to @evo2k. 2 stay incognito was Vega who wears a mask. @StreetFighter family. DJ, Dr. Bosconovich, Makoto,” she said after the family had pulled off their covert operation.
Jamie Lee Curtis went incognito in a claw-wielding Vega as she appears in Street Fighter II: The World Warrior. The muscled Dee Jay debuted in Super Street Fighter II, Dr. Bosconovitch is from Tekken and Makoto first showed up in Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike.
So the fantastic foursome had their lore bases covered. We can’t wait to see what they come up with on actual Halloween.
Curtis will co-star on Fox’s Scream Queens, premiering Sept. 22. Jamie will be working with creator Ryan Murphy, who is going to give his leading ladies some scenery to chew on, so perhaps another Emmy nomination is in the original scream queen’s future.
The actress took to Twitter this week to congratulate some of her Hollywood peers on their much-deserved nominations: ”
“Thrilled 4 @NiecyNash @mgyllenhaal @MsSarahPaulson @JoFroggattshowing grace under pressure, brilliance in complex subjects. Got Talent?” she wrote, adding, “And @MsKathyBates @ImAngelaBassett women doing great work. Proud 2 b working at a time where so many wonderful actresses r getting 2 shine!”
Curtis’ appearance at Evo 2015 wasn’t totally random. Jamie Lee says that, “I spend a lot of time playing Street Fighter.”
Also at Evo 2015, Capcom announced new details about Street Fighter V’s post-launch DLC plans. Capcom is expected to announce a new character for the game.
Jamie Lee wore the flesh-colored top that was quite good enough to become the strapping figure. Curtis tweeted once before about her family’s escapades about the game, and people eventually caught on.
The efficacy of the brilliant disguise is hampered somewhat by the unmistakable presence of her famous husband Christopher Guest, pulling off a passable version of Tekken’s Doctor Geppetto Bosconovitch, though he could use less hair. In contrast, her older sister Kelly’s Mokoto is spot-on.
As Jamie Lee Curtis goes incognito, she has declared her love for Street Fighter in the past, giving her the coolest mom award. The actress says she planned to take her son to EVO as a graduation present.
