Janet Jackson Named Grinch – Janet Jackson is named “Grinch of the Year” by PETA. So what does it mean? Is this a real honorary thing to have, or is it something bad?
The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals are honoring the singer with their “Grinch of the Year” award.
They gave Janet this awful label due to her recent business deal with Blackglama. PETA was less than happy in July 2010 when Janet became a spokeswoman for the label; as their spokesperson, she advocates buying the companies furs.
Legends such as Cher, Audrey Hepburn, Ray Charles, Lena Horne and many others have previously been etched in Blackgama stone. Last year the company named Jackson their most successful spokesperson to date.
This year she is an even bigger target for PETA; in November, she chose to launch a 15-piece collection with the fur clothing company. Blackglama receives their fur from The American Legend Cooperative (ALC); they are an agricultural marketing corporation of mink fur farmers located in North America.
Products from the “Grinch of the Year,” are available at Bloomingdales and Saks Fifth Avenue. Jackson is ignoring the group’s statement.
