Jennifer Aniston is growing her empire by adding Living Proof hair care products to her portfolio, if you can imagine that.
Aniston has done the inevitable and joined forces with Living Proof, becoming the co-owner and, as it happens, hair model/spokeswoman for the beauty company.
The line was cofounded by an MIT professor, and rather than following the traditional albeit formulaic beauty-industry standards, the company has created their products rather unusually, modeling their process on the biotech industry.
As for Aniston, Justin Theroux’s soon-to-be missus won’t just be the pretty face (and tresses) of the line. Rather, she’ll be involved in the development of the brand and creative marketing direction, and will collaborate with stylists and scientists alike on new product ideas.
“I’ve tried so many hair care products,” Aniston said. “Over the years, my hair has been subjected to everything…blow dryers, flatirons, curling irons, color, extensions, you name it. My hair has taken a serious beating. After using these products, I felt like I finally discovered a solution that works every day. I could not be more excited to share Living Proof with the world.”
What sets Living Proof apart from other hair care brands is science: the line was founded in part by Dr. Robert Langer, a professor at MIT, and it uses real scientists to solve tough beauty problems (don’t worry, they’re still working to solve real scientific problems in their labs, too).
As part of the deal, Aniston will assist in development and marketing, and will collaborate with the brand’s stylists and scientists on new product ideas. According to the Wall Street Journal, the star was first sold on the 7-year-old line while filming in North Carolina and successfully using the frizz-fighting cream in the 100-percent humidity.
