Joe Perry writing his own Aerosmith Autobiography

Aerosmith Guitarist Joe Perry is writing his own autobiography about his life with Aerosmith and what it’s like to be a rock n’ roll star.

Perry, 61, appears to be getting so tips from band mate Steven Tyler, who released “Does the Noise in My Head Bother You?: A Rock ‘n’ Roll Memoir,” in May 2011.

“Officially started writing my biography this week. More info. to come soon re: publisher, tentative release date, etc…,” the Aerosmith guitarist stated on Twitter Friday (February 24).

Both Perry and Tyler had a hand in “Walk This Way,” Aerosmith’s officially authorized autobiography, released in 1997.

In addition to Perry’s autobiography, he announced that Aerosmith shot the cover for the long-awaited sequel to 2004’s Honkin’ on Bobo.

In 2010, Tyler verified that Aerosmith would be releasing their 15th studio album in 2012.

Perry currently lives in Pomfret, Vermont on his farm, Sleepy Hollow, where he raises Friesian horses. In addition, he has a house in Duxbury, Massachusetts where he stays occasionally. He is a grandfather to his first grandchild, Austin, who is the son of Joe’s stepson Aaron.
