Actor John Travolta had an openly gay relationship for 6 years with his male pilot, Doug Gotterba, according to his former secretary, Joan Edwards, who spoke to the National Enquirer.
The magazine quotes Edwards as to saying, “I did everything for him, including taking care of his personal and professional schedules. Of course I knew he was gay. It never bothered me,”
Edwards went onto confirm that Doug Gotterba had worked as Travolta’s personal pilot in the 80s and had a relationship with him.
“That’s how I met Doug. We both worked for John at the same time. Doug is a wonderful guy and we are still good friends. He told me that John was gay and they had a sexual relationship,” according to Edwards.
A one-time boyfriend of Gotterba also has said that he was told of the relationship between the two men.
“Doug told me right at the beginning of our relationship that he’d had a homosexual relationship with John Travolta in the 1980s,” Robert Britz said.
Britz added, “Doug said John was constantly grabbing at his genital area, but he put up with John’s sexual advances because working for him was ‘lucrative.'”
He went onto say, “Doug said he hated sleeping with John because his body was very hairy, and he didn’t like the way John smelled,” Britz said. He said he was also put off by Travolta’s weight gain between movies.
Travolta has not responded to the new allegations.
