The energy drinks are being labeled as a form of ‘pageant crack’ and are now ceasing to keep June Shannon’s daughter Alana energized for her beauty pageants.

In one episode of the show, Alana says, “My special juice is going to help me win.” Then she says, “My Go-Go Juice is kicking in right now.”

According to Shannon, “The ‘Go-Go Juice’ is a mixture of Mountain Dew and Red Bull that she feeds it to Alana during beauty pageants in order to keep her going.”

Shannon began using the energy drink mixture, that apparently has the same amount of caffeine as two cups of coffee, after giving her two bags of Pixy Stix’s, which failed to keep her energized.

She said to those who question her decision, “There are far worse things. I could be giving her alcohol.”

Adding, “Everybody does it. There are normal people who give their kids this, so why is it such a big issue with us pageant moms that do it all weekend to keep our kids energized and awake?”
