Kate Beckinsale recently admitted to not being afraid to take on the role as a journalist in a new film, documenting the story that involved Amanda Knox in the highly controversial murder of British student Meredith Kercher.
Beckinsale looked to be getting stuck into filming The Face Of An Angel in the Piazza del Popolo, in Rome, on Sunday. The 40-year-old actress was spotted at Rosati bar and restaurant in the square nestled amongst the crew as she began to act out scenes for the first official day of filming the story based on the of comings and goings of the accused, Amanda Knox.
Kate looked far more glamorous than the average reporter, dressed in a pair of dark denim jeans a navy blue blazer, white T-shirt and a pale grey cashmere scarf. The Oxford university graduate kept her long highlighted brunette locks sleek and straight, whilst carrying a black leather handbag on her shoulder.
She wore a pair of sunglasses towards the end of scene whilst carrying a long pale grey coat over her arm whilst checking her slightly outdated mobile phone.
Whilst at the restaurant, a waiter was seen bringing out cups of coffee for
the pair who were inevitably talking about how they were going to seek
out the truth about Amanda Knox. Kate, whose role is based on CNN journalist Barbie Latza Nadeau has revealed that years of working in cult films has given her a confidence in dealing with followers who cross the line.
“I’ve done three films dressed head to toe in latex, so don’t think I haven’t had my share of nutters,” she said recently.
The comment comes as fans and critics absorb the news of her latest, and perhaps most controversial, acting role.
