Kate Gosselin does cry behind closed doors. Raising eight kids as a single parent is definitely hard to do. While it appears that she has her life under control, there might be other reasons.
“I’m one of many single moms out there. It’s not ideal. On a very busy day where the logistics aren’t lining up — I have to be here to pick this kid up and I have to be there to do whatever, that happens so often now I can’t even tell you,” she says in the upcoming two-part Kate Plus Eight special, airing June 26 on TLC.
While Kate Gosselin may have much to cry over, she says her goal is simply to get through the day. She divorced husband Jon in 2009 after 10 years of marriage. Dating is also difficult because she is busy raising her kids.
“It’s really easy to feel like just saying, ‘It’s too much. There’s me and there’s eight kids,’” Gosselin, 39, said. “I don’t think an hour goes by that I’m not reminded that those odds are completely unbalanced.”
“It was never my intent to portray myself as superwoman,” she insists. “I mean, I cry behind closed doors, I struggle. But I have to remind myself, this is my one shot. You’re going to mess up. Just don’t give up.”
There is also a book that she is concerned about. Apparently, the book contains shocking claims about the famed mother of eight. Author Robert Hoffman alleges that she planned to have two sets of multiple births in her desperate search for fortune and fame.
Hoffman began tracking the family in the summer of 2009 as a reporter for US magazine. Disturbed by what he witnessed, he decided to expose the reality star in his new book. He claims that she runs a house of horrors that exists behind the reality television show.
Kate Gosselin had much to cry about, but she did drop hacking and wiretapping charges against Hoffman last year after she successfully kept the book from being published. But now, just days after her new TV special that aired June 19, Hoffman is making the book available. He claims that the reality star “deliberately and intentionally got pregnant with two sets of multiples in order to become the working mom’s Martha Stewart.”
