Kathryn Morris has welcomed baby boy twins with fellow Cold Case actor Johnny Messner, a rep for the actress confirms. They are first-time parents and Morris has been with Messner for three-and-a-half years, and they are beyond excited.
The new dad couldn’t contain his excitement and took to Twitter nearly 30 minutes after the babies were born to share the news.
“We are so grateful for these healthy, beautiful boys,” the couple said in a statement. The twins, with their names yet to be revealed, weighed in at 6 lbs 14 oz. and 6 lbs 10 oz. at 8:12 a.m. at Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles. Mom and babies are said to be doing great. “We are so blessed,” the new dad added via Twitter.
Like most dads, Messner was a little nervous about heading to the maternity wing, despite his action star roots. The 43-year-old posted a selfie on Instagram in his surgical scrubs with the caption, “This is me getting crazy nervous ……… Wow this s**t is mind blowing!!!”
They announced they were expecting in April. “We’re beyond excited and doubly blessed!” the happy couple told Us at the time. “Happiest man in the World. 2 Dirty Messner boys on there way!!!!” the Equalizer actor added via Twitter.
Morris, 44, and Messner, 43, opened up about their relationship during an interview on Brett Gursky’s podcast On The List on the HAHAJK network in April. “We complement each other very well,” the new mom shared. “I worked hard to woo her,” Messner added. “We make the best team.”
Morris is best known for her work as Detective Lilly Rush on the CBS series, which ended in 2010.
Morris met Messner on the set of Cold Case but say they didn’t start dating until after the show wrapped three years ago.
Both actors have had long careers in Hollywood; you may recognize Messner from The Sweetest Thing with Cameron Diaz or as slimy adult movie producer Lance Baldwin on The O.C. while Morris went from her lead role on Cold Case, the series ended in 2010, to filming several TV movies.
The pair will next be starring as Mom and Dad.
