Katy Perry – Did you see Katy Perry host Saturday Night Live? She surprised everyone with a new change in hair color. The show was really good and you can catch the repeat later this week on CNBC.
Russell Brand gave his wife a few pointers to help her out before the show and that seemed to pay off, even though she’s been on ‘SNL’ in the past.
Perry is always fun to watch in sketch comedy, and the last night’s installment was one of her best appearances. The musical guest was Robyn, who used to tour with the pop star. Her music shined last night.
Katy was decked out in a holiday-inspired ensemble opened up the show with a monologue in by introducing her neighbor (Kristen Wiig), as well as a kid she used to babysit (Andy Samberg) and a friend named Tom (Bill Hader) – with the trio portraying styles from a range of her past music videos.
Highlights of the latest “SNL” included a digital short which saw her team up with Samberg as best friends sharing innocent holiday cheer before meeting two not-so-pleasant characters (played by Matt Damon and Val Kilmer) – with the group them uniting into “four best friends”.
The program also found Alec Baldwin poke fun at his headline making American Airlines incident while playing a character named Captain Steve Rogers during Weekend Update.
The night’s musical guest was Robyn, who performed renditions of “Dancing On My Own” and “Call Your Girlfriend” during the course of the show.
Last night’s SNL episode was Katy’s first significant appearance since September 2010.
