Katy Perry has removed Russell Brand from her Twitter account as the former couple prepare for their official split, and it could be a sign of things to come that could only mean a nasty divorce in Los Angeles.
The 27-year-old pop star is trying to cut all ties and communication with Brand, 36, according to Us Weekly. “She’s limiting those interactions,” a source tells the mag. “He’s being so atrocious that she feels like she never really knew him.”
And what’s interesting is that Perry is still one of the 78 people Brand — who actually filed the divorce papers from whis wife of 14 months — is following as of Jan. 20.
Perry has stayed away from the paparazzi by keeping herself busy with work since the break-up was officially announced on Dec. 30. She performed in Jakarta, Indonesia, on Thursday and shot an Adidas ad in Santa Barbara, Calif. recently.
“She doesn’t want to look battered and have people for sorry for her,” the source says. “She’s very strong and confident.”
But life goes on for Perry because she has a lot of be happy about. For one thing, she took home more trophies than anyone else did at the 38th People’s Choice Awards on Jan. 11, despite canceling her scheduled appearance at the show.
“THANK U to every1 who voted for me for the @peopleschoice tonight! We won so many!” she tweeted after the show. “Now I need to get more books 2 successfully display them!”
Perry is moving on with her life, despite what some reports say, and she needs to focus only on her, so removing Brand was actually a good thing, not a sign of nasty times to come.
