Kevin Federline is in trouble with the IRS after falling behind on his income taxes for years 2009 and 2010, which totals to about $58,000, but it’s not the first time he’s been in trouble with Uncle Sam.

During those years he tried his hand at acting to bring in some money, including a cameo appearance in the straight-to-DVD flick American Pie Presents: The Book of Love and the reality show Celebrity Fit Club.

Late last year the former back-up dancer was hit with a $37,712.17 lien for unpaid taxes dating back to 2004, the year he tied the knot with Britney Spears.

At the time Britney tried to fight the claim, which her spokesman called “erroneous,” but she couldn’t continue to evade the IRS for long; 2004 was a highly successful year for the pop star, who not only released a greatest hits album but toured the world with it as well.

Meanwhile, her then husband Federline, who once worked as a back-up dancer for Michael Jackson, appeared in the dance flick You Got Served.

And earlier last year, while filming the Australian weight loss show Excess Baggage, Federline suffered a minor heart attack, landing him in the hospital for an overnight stay.

The famous couple separated in 2006 and have two sons together, Sean Preston, seven, and Jayden James, six.

Since the split, Britney has racked up a fortune of over $32.4 million, making her one of the most successful women in the entertainment industry.

The singer has a blend of assets, including property and cash, that brings the superstar up to the enviable figure, according to documents filed by her conservatorship in October of 2012.

Perhaps most notably, it showed she had a huge amount of cash on hand at just shy of $15 million.

And her success is set to continue, as the latest figures do not take account of her reported $15 million contract to star on The X Factor, nor the cash windfall she is due to receive after taking part in a money-spinning tour that earned $68 million.

But she has not been so fortunate in her personal life. Britney announced in December that she ended her one-year engagement with her former agent, Jason Trawick.

“Jason and I have decided to call off our engagement. I’ll always adore him and we will remain great friends,” Britney said in a statement. Jason added: “As this chapter ends for us a new one begins. I love and cherish her and her boys and we will be close forever.”
