Keyshia Cole’s husband, Daniel “Boobie” Gibson, has been arrested on charges of 2nd degree battery. Apparently, he was out with Cole and is accused of punching a man at a nightclub on July 8th.

Law enforcement says the fight started with a verbal argument and an altercation soon followed. According to police, Gibson was booked on 2nd degree battery in New Orleans and later bonded out.

“Earlier this month during the Essence Music Festival, I was involved in an incident with other individuals while I was out with my wife,” Gibson said in a public statement. “It’s unfortunate that some see opportunity in taking advantage of people who work hard for what they have achieved,” he added.

Gibson, 27, says he takes pride in being a role model for his son and other kids who look up to him — and adds, “Once all the facts of the incident come out, I expect to be fully vindicated.”

The professional basketball player, who played for the Cleveland Cavaliers last season, turned himself in to the New Orleans Police Department on Tuesday.

The details surrounding the alleged assault and battery are unclear — and cops have not identified the accuser.
