Khloe Kardashian Ivf – After her marriage to basketball star Lamar Odom, 29 year-old Khloe Kardashian has been trying to have a child but has been unsuccessful, and is now turning to an IVF procedure.
“She is desperate for a baby with Lamar and will do whatever it takes,” a source close to the couple told tUS weekly. “They have faith the IVF will work.”
IVF or In vitro fertilisation is a procedure that started in 1978 and a baby born of IVF was dubbed a “test tube baby.”
IVF is a process by which egg cells are fertilised by sperm outside the body: in vitro. It is now a major treatment in infertility when other methods of assisted reproductive technology have failed. The process involves removing eggs from the woman’s ovaries and letting sperm fertilise them in a fluid medium. The fertilised egg is then transferred to the patient’s uterus with the intent to establish a successful pregnancy.
The procedure will run Khloe and Lamar around $10,000 to $15,000 per treatment.
Khloe recently blogged that she was “overjoyed” by the news of her sister Kourtney’s pregnancy, but the reality star is apparently coming to terms with the fact that she has yet to conceive.
“She’s thrilled for Kourtney, but she’s really sensitive,” another source told Us. “And it’s hard to see your sister get something you want so badly.”
Khloe Kardashian is stepmother to Odom’s two children from a previous relationship: Destiny, 13, and Lamar Jr., 10.
