Kiefer Sutherland 24 Movie – Kiefer Sutherland begins the motion picture movie for FOX’s “24” will finally be set to begin filming later this year with his role of CTU agent Jack Bauer nearly two years later.
“The status on the movie — hopefully we will be shooting at the end of April, beginning of May,” the actor said on Sunday at the FOX portion of the Television Critics Association Winter Session in Pasadena.
Sutherland also stated that his new series “Touch” will not interfere in filming.
In the TV series, each episode was represented by a one hour period in which there was a 24 hour timeline for Sutherland’s character, Jack Bauer to literally have to save the day, usually against some sort of terrorist threat.
When it was announced in 2010 that the series would conclude after its eighth season, it was also announced a feature film would be done afterwards. the series finale was aired on May 24th 2010. Originally in December of 2010 FOX shot down a script for the movie stating, “It wasn’t strong enough or compelling enough.”
A new script was rewritten without the writer of the original involved, and was completed and given the green light in September, 2011.
During its run, Kiefer Sutherland and “24” won numerous wards including and Emmy and Golden Globe.
