Leah Messer has suffered a miscarriage after happily announcing her engagement and second pregnancy, but she and fiance Jeremy Calvert still plan to get married despite the heartbreaking news.
“It’s a devastating experience, but all I can do is support Leah and take things day by day,” Calvert told OK! magazine. “It’s hard, but we will get through it.”
Messer, 19, reportedly began to suffer from cramps two weeks ago and knew something was wrong when the pain continued to worsen.
The “Teen Mom” reality star was at her mother’s house on a Saturday afternoon when she lost the baby, OK! reported.
“She was having extreme pain to the point where she couldn’t get out of bed,” a source told the mag. “Leah knew something was happening. She was bleeding and had body aches.”
With Calvert standing firm as a source of support for Messer, the young mom is said to still be “very emotional” and “really upset” about the miscarriage.
“There have been times during the day when she will just break down and cry,” the insider said of Messer, who has 2-year-old twin daughters, Aliannah and Aleeah, with ex-husband Corey Simms.
As for her future with Calvert? The two reportedly still plan to wed.
“Leah says that Jeremy definitely is ‘the one’ for her,” the source said, however adding, “It’s a sad time for everyone right now, and they are just taking it day by day.”
