Lily Aldridge and her baby girl Dixie Pearl have both blossomed into social butterflies after celebrating her first birthday with a Minnie Mouse-themed party in June. Dixie loves to talk and looks forward to being social, her mother said.
“She talks all day — she loves talking and saying ‘Hi’ to everyone. She’s so social,” the model, 27, told PEOPLE at the FIT 2013 Couture Council Award luncheon in New York City on Wednesday, where Michael Kors was honored.
“She says ‘Hi’ to everybody, going down the aisle on an airplane or down the street. It’s very sweet,” adds Aldridge.
According to the Victoria’s Secret Angel, it seems as if Dixie is taking after her rocker dad, Kings of Leon frontman Caleb Followill, 31 — especially during her music class. “She’s my husband’s identical twin. She loves playing piano,” says Aldridge.
But the 14-month-old, who already made her modeling debut in the August issue of Vogue, is bound to be fashion-forward like her mama. “I love Zara‘s line, they make great kids clothes and I love Stella McCartney’s line for her,” she shares.
Meanwhile, with September here, we expected the red carpet to turn a little darker with loads of black, rust, and even some remnants of last year’s oxblood. Which is why Aldridge’s outfit at the Couture Council Fashion Visionary Awards yesterday was a very pleasant surprise.
The model looked delightful in a bright yet seasonally appropriate ensemble. She chose a hot pink sweater and skirt set from the honored designer of the night, Michael Kors. Her accessories were also to-die-for: a snakeskin belt and clutch, nude minimal heels, with gold statement earrings.
