Maggie Gyllenhaal Expecting Second Child

Maggie Gyllenhaal – Maggie Gyllenhaal and husband Peter Sarsgaard are expecting their second child together, the actors revealed over Thanksgiving weekend.

The 34-year-old actress announced to family and friends that she will be expecting a tiny bundle of joy in the coming months, finally putting tabloid rumors to rest.

“Over Thanksgiving weekend, Maggie was telling friends that she’s six months pregnant,” a friend of the actress said, according to Life & Style. “Her bump is so big!”

The couple’s young daughter Ramona, 5, doesn’t yet know if she will soon have a brother or a sister, but the expanding brood is excited for their new addition.

“She’s thrilled to be pregnant!” the friend said. “She and Peter have wanted another child for a while.”

Speculations that Gyllenhaal was pregnant first surfaced when the actress showed up with a tiny baby bump at the Rome Film Festival premiere of her latest film “Hysteria,” about the advent of vibrators in the 1880s.

At the time, the actress did not confirm the pregnancy. Now, however, she is hardly hiding her excitement.

“There’s no way to prepare for the challenges, the immense joys, the surprises, the disappointments and the shocks,” Gyllenhaal said. “Your heart just rips open. It’s amazing.”
