Mamie Gummer has split from Broadway actor Benjamin Walker after being engaged in 2009 and being married in July of 2011 at her parents’ estate in Connecticut.
The two met while performing in the spring 2008 production of Les Liasons Dangereuses on Broadway.
Gummer, 28, is Meryl Streep’s daughter.
The Side Effects actress’ spokesperson insists that, “it’s very amicable,” however.
Gummer has recently been the star of two failed television series – 2012’s “Emily Owens, M.D.” and 2011’s “Off the Map.” Conversely, her husband has seen better results.
Walker, 30, has been starring as Brick in the current New York production of Tennessee Williams’ “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof,” which had its last showing on Saturday.
During the audition process, the Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter actor flew to Paris to read through the script again with his A-list co-star, Scarlett Johansson, who took on the role of Maggie.
In a January interview with New York magazine, Walker talked about the trouble he got in during college that he pulls from for character motivation.
“Don’t trust somebody that don’t have a troubled period,” he said.
As for Gummer and Walker, no one saw this split coming.
