Manisha Koirala returned to Mumbai after spending over six months in New York for treatment of ovarian cancer. The latest news is that she has returned cancer-free, looking as great as ever, and went straight to her residence in Andheri.
“Manisha has landed in India and she is absolutely fine now. She is looking as gorgeous as she was before,” Subroto Ghosh, Manisha’s manager, told IANS.
When doctors announced that she had overcome the disease successfully, she had called it her “rebirth.”
The 42-year-old, who carved her own niche in the Hindi film industry with films like “Bombay,” “1942: A Love Story” and “Dil Se,” was initially admitted to Mumbai’s Jaslok Hospital November 28 last year. She later flew down to the US for further treatment.
Manish looked cheerful as she stepped out of the airport. She was not alone, her close associate and veteran actress Deepti Naval
“We were in the same flight,” Deepti told soon after they had landed. “Manisha is looking great and healthy. I had gone to the US for my nephew’s wedding. We coordinated with each other so that we could return on the same flight. She’ll have to go to the US for a few checkups though, but you can’t imagine my happiness today. Manisha is now ready to resume her normal life in Mumbai,” said the veteran actress. Deepti was in constant touch with the actress throughout her treatment in US and when Manish underwent surgery in New York hospital, Deepti Naval was by her side.
A few days ago, Manisha had posted on her social networking page, “Got to know (about) lovely rains in Mumbai. Can’t wait to be on my terrace!”
