Maxim magazine has named Paula Deen the “Hotted TV Chef” through a vote. This is a big surprise because she’s often seen as the older, gray-haired women, but she beat out younger more attractive women in the survey. Perhaps we could question its readers if they are blind, or maybe they believe she is the sexiest when it comes to home cooking.
Deen has faced some criticism for the high amounts of fat, salt, and sugar in her recipes. She faced even more objections after she released Lunch-Box Set, a cookbook aimed at children, with Barbara Walters saying of the book, “You tell kids to have cheesecake for breakfast. You tell them to have chocolate cake and meatloaf for lunch. And french fries. Doesn’t it bother you that you’re adding to this?”
Deen has appeared on several different shows on the Food Network since 1999 including her own called “Paula’s Home Cooking.” Most recently she appeared on ‘Top Chef’ as a guest judge. Deen resides in Savannah, Georgia, where she owns and operates The Lady and Sons restaurant with her sons, Jamie and Bobby Deen.
The Emmy award-winning TV chef has also published five cookbooks. Though married in 2004 to Michael Anthony Groover, she continues to use the surname Deen from her first marriage.
Of the Maxim “Hottest” list the more conventionally attractive Padma Lakshmi and Giada De Laurentiis came in 2nd and 3rd respectively. Rounding out their top 5 were Aida Mollenkamp and Eden Grinshpan.
