Michelle Duggar Miscarriage – Michelle Dugger had a miscarriage that was supposed to be baby number 20 for the ’19 Kids and Counting’ family, for a second time.
Her husband Jim Bob told Us Weekly she suffered the miscarriage on Thursday after what was suppose to be a routine visit to the doctor.
“Earlier today at a routine doctor’s appointment, Michelle and I received the sad news that we lost the baby,” Jim Bob Duggar told Us. “Michelle is resting comfortably at home with the support of the entire family. We are grateful for all the thoughts and prayers, but ask for privacy during this difficult time.”
The couple was expecting the birth od their 20th child in April as Michelle was in her second trimester.
The Duggars elected to delay having children after getting married and practiced birth control. It was three years before Josh, their eldest child, was born. They then resumed using birth control; despite precautions, Michelle conceived again but suffered a miscarriage. Believing the miscarriage was due to the contraceptive, the Duggars quit birth control.
As they explain, they “decided to allow God to determine the number of children” they would have. Shortly thereafter, Michelle became pregnant again, this time with her first set of twins, Jana and John-David. Thereafter, approximately every year and a half, Michelle gave birth.
