Michelle Obama will visit David Letterman on ‘The Late Show’, Monday March 19th, for the first time ever.
During Obama’s scheduled appearance, it is expected she will be discussing her and Jill Biden’s ‘Joining Forces’ initiative, which is about to have its one year anniversary in April. The initiatives motives are to support military service members and their families.
In a statement on the “Joining Forces” website a statement reads; 1% of Americans may be fighting our wars, but we need 100% of Americans to be supporting our troops and their families. Mrs. Obama and Dr. Biden are asking Americans to get involved in any way they can.
Obama’s appearance on the show will take up the time usually reserved for two guest’s and there will be a performance by singer, Esperanza Spalding.
It is excepted that she will also discuss her other initiatives such as childhood obesity and try to earn support in her husbands re-election effort.
This past January she appeared on the ‘The Tonight Show with Jay Leno’ for the same purposes. Leno had told the First Lady, he had not eaten an apple since 1984, she told him he needed to start eating his veggies.
