Michelle Williams Taking A Break From Acting

Actress Michelle Williams, who first got recognition for a role on TV’s “Dawson’s Creek” before taking on movie roles, says she is going to be taking a break from acting for awhile.

Michelle Williams revealed the news of taking time off at the Sunday night SAG awards while walking the red carpet to E! News.

Williams said, “I just want to go back to being a mom for a while.”

William’s has a six year-old daughter whose father was late actor Heath Ledger. She also co-starred with Ledger in the movie, “Brokeback Mountain.”

In a statement following Ledger’s death she said that his spirit lives on in their daughter.

Last year she told OK! magazine, “Even when I’m working I still think about her and can’t wait to get back to her at the end of the day … Raising my daughter is my absolute priority. Everything I do is to make Matilda’s world as happy and secure as possible.”

In one of her latest roles she has been nominated for an Oscar for Best Actress. She plays Marilyn Monroe in “My Weekend With Marilyn.” SHe has just finished shooting her part in “Oz, The Great and Powerful,” as “Glinda the Good Witch.” The film is due in theaters in 2013.
