Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger will be hosting “Saturday Night Live” on May 19 for their season finale.
This will be his first time hosting the live sketch comedy show.
However, it will be his third time performing on the late-night show.
The “Reflections in the Mirror” skit that the rocker and Jimmy Fallon teamed up and did together in December 2001 was Jagger’s most memorable performance on “Saturday Night Live.”
According to the N.Y. Daily News this SNL hosting performance coincides with The Rolling Stones 50th anniversary. In addition, the English rock band will be releasing a history book, which will most likely be in stores by July 12.
There has been no official word as yet, but rumor has it that a new album is going to be released in 2013.
Mick Jagger’s music career has lasted over fifty years. His first performance in July 1962, under the name The Rollin’ Stones, which was one of the group’s favorite Muddy Waters songs was held at a jazz club called the Marquee.
Allmusic has described Jagger as “one of the most popular and influential frontmen in the history of rock and roll.”
It will be great to see what Jagger and the SNL crew think of for this 2012 performance.
