Miranda Lambert credits her weight loss to careful dieting and maintaining her figure by watching what she eats. It’s been revealed that Lambert lost 45 pounds, and she has the slim waist to prove it.
On June 6, the The Inquisitr reported that the singer revealed her body transformation at the CMT Music Awards. “The country music star — who just released her new album Platinum — showed off her super-slender figure after she lost 45 pounds,” according to the the report. This marked the first major public appearance for the 5’4″ 30-year-old country star since a recent report that said she had dropped weight.
At the awards show on Wednesday, June 4, Lambert showcased a fabulous figure and shapely legs in a sexy, beaded and cleavage-baring ivory mini dress by Greek designer Celia Kritharioti, complete with a metallic belt that accentuated her slim waist. She paired the look with matching Manolo Blahnik stiletto sandals and wore her hair in a playful, teased undo.
The singer attended the event with husband and The Voice coach Blake Shelton. Both took home awards at the ceremony and Lambert performed a duet of “Somethin’ Bad” with fellow hottie and country star Carrie Underwood.
Lambert had lost weight gradually over the past few months and sings about body image issues in the song “Gravity Is a B!tch,” a track on her fifth studio album Platinum, which was released on Tuesday-the day she survived an emergency landing during a plane trip. Us Weekly reported about her 45-pound weight loss in a recent cover story.
The singer told E! News in November: “I fluctuate all the time in my weight.”
That month, she also dismissed rumors that claimed she had weight loss surgery, saying on her website that she slimmed down after “watching what I eat and working out with my trainer.”
In May, Women’s Health reported that Lambert she had started to eat healthier after seeing unflattering photos of herself in tabloids and after she was approached by a few weight loss companies for a spokesmodel job, adding that she was asked to lose 40 pounds.
“I’d think, ‘But I’m not obese. I’m only a size 8. I really don’t even need to lose 40 pounds,’” the magazine quoted her as saying. “‘I thought I only needed to lose like 15, but now that you mention it, dang, I do look kind of bad! Thanks for bringing that to my attention, a-hole.’”
Also that month, Lambert told Billboard that she is “I’m super into giving girls-especially younger girls==a positive body image.” “I’m just a normal-sized girl, the girl you would probably come over and have a beer with if you lived next door right now, and we’d probably be frying chicken,” she said. “I don’t ever want to stray away from that.”
