Most Charitable Celebrities 2011. Many of the top earning celebrities have been the most charitable this year. These top movie stars are high earners, but they give back some of the fortunes to help the world.

George Clooney is a member of the Board of Trustees of United Way. He is also a UN Messenger of Peace and dedicates much of his time and energy to stopping the crisis in Darfur. He also continues to help Haiti earthquake victims.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie run the “Make It Right Foundation” and continue to build new homes for displaced New Orleans residents affected by Hurricane Katrina. Jolie began traveling the world on behalf of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and continues to be an advocate for people in need.

In 2008, Ben Affleck teamed-up with the United Nations, releasing a short film highlighting the plight of refugees in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He continues to explore the humanitarian crisis in Congo.

Madonna is one of the most giving celebrities and is a member of Raising Malawi’s advisory committee. She helps with the volunteer organization’s mission to aid orphans in one of the poorest countries in the world by providing water, food, medical care and schooling.

One of the most charitable is Michael J. Fox, who runs the “Michael J. Fox Foundation” for Parkinson’s Research. The celebrity has raised over $100 million to date. The money is used for research in combating the disease.
