Natalie Portman Gravity 3-D movie? Angelina Jolie role. Natalie Portman might be taking the lead role in the Gravity 3-D movie. Portman might be working with Robert Downey Jr. after Angelina Jolie turned down the role.

Portman could be taking on the lead role in “Gravity” alongside Robert Downey Jr. The 3-D movie will be directed by Alfonso Cuaron. The film is a sci-fi story with a plot that will give the female lead plenty of screen time.

If Portman signs on, she will play a woman stranded on a space station after a crash kills the rest of her crew. Downey, Jr. has committed to a supporting role. Gravity is scheduled to begin shooting in January, before the Iron Man actor is scheduled to film other projects.

Angelina Jolie stepped out of the movie because she’s working on her own project. The Tomb Raider actress is directing a new Bosnian war romance film. Jolie and Portman already have a lot of work going on this year.
