Neil Diamond – At the age of 70, veteran singer Neil Diamond is set to wed in the spring ahead of his upcoming world tour.
The Sweet Caroline legend announced his engagement to his 40 year-old girlfriend and co-manager Katie McNeil in September.
Diamond was honored at the Kennedy Center Honors in Washington, D.C. on Sunday and after receiving his medal, he told reporters at Usa Today about his wedding plans.
Diamond revealed he is planning to walk down the aisle for a third time before he hits the road for a global trek next June. “I will marry sometime in the spring, before I go out on tour again,” he says.
Neil Diamond and his first wife, Jayne Posner, have two daughters, Marjorie and Elyn. The two divorced in 1969. That year, he wed his second wife, Marcia Murphey. They had two sons, Jesse and Micah, and divorced in 1995. Neil is also a grandfather.
Besides being a manager McNeil has produced movies about music artists and bands, such as the 2001 film “Motley Crue: Lewd Crued & Tattooed,” and the 2007 flick “The Bangles Return to Bangleonia.”
Neil Diamond, known for making mostly pop music, had said in December he does indeed see himself as a rock star and is happy to be among the “clowns in the circus” of rock and roll.
