As a part of the interview with Oprah that aired this past Sunday on “Oprah’s Next Chapter,” where Paris Jackson discussed her late father Michael, she also revealed that she was bullied in school.
The now 14-year-old explained that while her father was alive she, and her siblings were always home schooled. But now she has opted to attend a private school, and quickly learned why her father was so protective.
Aside from being bullied at school she has dealt with cyber bullying as well, but says that in both cases, were people try to use words to hurt her, she doesn’t let it get to her.
“People try, but it doesn’t always work,” she tells Oprah. “At school, and some people try to cyber bully me. They try to get to me with words, but that doesn’t really work.”
Oprah asked Paris if she thought people acted that way because they were jealous of who she is. Paris responded by saying, “Maybe, I don’t know.”
She explained just like when she begins to feel sad about losing her father, when she is bullied, she just remembers something she likes, and it makes her smile.
In the interview, she also explained that though the public may have had a different image of her father, who made them wear face masks when out to protect their identity, they had a normal home and Michael was just a plain old normal father to his kids.
