Pippa Middleton – The party might be over before it’s even started for Pippa Middleton.
Since reports broke that Kate’s younger sister has been in talks with publishers to sign a $1.5 million deal to write a book about party planning and etiquette, the news hasn’t been well-received.
Critics are speaking out to say Middleton is trying to cash in on her sister’s fame.
“The sight of minor royals and royals-in-law — whom the public suspect of living featherbedded lifestyles anyway — cashing in on their regal connections irritates the Great British public at the best of times,” Daily Beast writer Tom Sykes says.
Sykes added that there could “scarcely be a worse time” for the world’s most famous little sister to be touting a $1.5 million book deal, especially as Britain continues to struggle with high unemployment in an uncertain economy.
Middleton, whose parents own a successful online party store, is expected to write about many of the topics she deals with in her own blog, “The Party Times,” including the “do’s and don’ts” to throwing parties.
But a book deal may turn out to be a royal pain in Middleton’s famous backside.
Pippa, 28, has come under fire from British newspapers mocking her party-planning authority.
The Guardian has offered a list of tips they expect to find in a spoof called “Pippa’s Amazing Royal Party Book.”
