Thomas Beatie, who became the first man to become pregnant, has separated from his wife. In 2007 after his wife Nancy, who was determined to be infertile following a hysterectomy, the female-to-male transgender decided to have a procedure performed involving donated sperm. The couple have 3 kids now but the marriage has ended.
Beatie made the announcement of the split while taping an interview on ‘The Doctors’ for CBS.
“Like all marriages, we have our ups and downs, and we’re going through a rough patch right now. At the moment, we’re separated,” Beatie said on the show, according to People magazine.
People magazine also reported that Thomas, since giving birth to his last child, had the final female to male procedure completed.
“Nancy hasn’t seen the new me yet,” Beatie, 38, says.
Thomas gave birth to his two sons and a daughter between 2008 and 2010, a second transgender man Yuval Topper, gave birth to a child on December 28, 2011.
‘The Doctors’ episode that Beatie appears on airs Monday, May 7, when he talks about being a pregnant man as well as the separation.
