While on The View, Wednesday, actress Dana Elaine Owens better known as Queen Latifah discussed her plans to adopt a child.
This is not the first time the 42-year-old actress has talked about adopting, apparently she knew as a teenager that this is something she wanted to do.
“I’m actually kind of working on that,” Latifah told Barbara Walters, who asked her if it was something she seriously considers doing. “I just always wanted to bring a child home.”
Latifah admitted that she thinks she got the idea of adopting from television, “I think I saw one of those specials… you know those movies of the week. And it was like… I just always wanted to bring a child home.”
She then comically added, “So if you got a kid that you don’t (want)… Just give me a year – let me set up camp and send me the kid!”
Queen Latifah’s sexual preference has also been a hot topic in the news recently; however, she refuses to discuss anything about the topic, as she feels it should be kept private. So, it is surprising that she was open about her plans to adopt in the future.
