Reese Witherspoon has given birth to a baby boy on Thursday. This is the third baby for the movie starlet, who married Jim Toth in March 2011, and the actress says the entire family is thrilled. Tennessee James joins two older siblings: her two daughters, Ava, 13 and Deacon, 8, both from her first marriage to actor Ryan Phillipe.
The 36-year-old actress married Toth at their vacation ranch in Ojai, California. A source close to the family told People the actress was eager to have another child back in March after their wedding. There were other reports that suggest she was already 12 weeks pregnant when she married Toth.
Witherspoon still shares custody of her daughter Ava and son Deacon with Phillippe from whom she split in 2006 after 7 years of marriage.
“Before Jim met Reese, he wasn’t sure about having kids,” a source told Us Weekly in March. “Being around her kids has really shown him what it’s all about.” Another insider added, “Settling down with Jim and raising a family is what [she] wanted.”
It was definitely a working pregnancy for the star, who braved the hot summer temperatures in Georgia to film “The Devil’s Knot” in July. Although she was very visible around town, she spoke very little about the pregnancy.
“I’m feeling very round tonight,” she said simply to the Chicago Sun Times on June 23. “After I finish [Devil's Knot], I’m going to take a little time off — and go have a baby!” she added.
