Rihanna’s stalker, Zentil Vanzellas, is now out of jail after the crazed fan was convicted and sentenced, but after serving 277 of the 365 days, he has admitted that he’s “sorry” for bothering the R&B singer.
However, Vanzellas still lives near Rihanna and it’s a situation that may prove difficult for the stalker to abide by court orders to stay at least 500 yards away since he’s been out of jail.
The restraining order is set to be in place for 10 years.
In 2010, Vanzellas showed up at Rihanna’s home unannounced and scared the pop star to the point of being later deemed a “credible threat” by the judge. Vanzellas insists he’ll be leaving Rihanna alone despite their close proximity.
Last year, Lindsay Lohan got a restraining order against her alleged stalker after the man, David Cocordan, was harassing her for 2 years. The actress feared that he could commit a sexual assault against her. Cocordan not only showed up at her public appearances, but followed her home and sent her hundreds of text messages and phone calls.
“I am afraid that this text message shows that Mr. Cocordan intends to sexually assault me,” Lohan stated in her declaration.
LAPD’s Threat Management Department believe Cocordan has mental issues and is schizophrenic.
Actress Halle Berry had a stalker show up at her home and was extremely frightened when he nearly gained entry into her kitchen before she was able to lock the door. He has pleaded not guilty to stalking, but prosecutors charged Richard A. Franco with felony burglary. Berry also took out a restraining order against him.
