For the second year in a row, Vogue Italia named Rihanna their 2012 “Woman of the Year.”

“Independent, energetic, the jewel in the crown of Jay-Z’s stable who helped her become such a huge success, the young Robyn Rihanna Fenty is our woman of the year and not just by virtue of numbers and figures but also, and foremost, for her kind and fighting spirit,” Vogue Italia writes.

The 24-year-old recording artist, born Robyn Rihanna Fenty, was chosen by the Italian edition of Vogue magazine for her intentness in many ventures and her “nonconformity.”

“Constantly growing from an artistic point of view, Rihanna is our woman of the year because of what she does. But most of all because of who she is,” they write.

The “Talk That Talk” singer has supported the following charities:

  • Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation
  • Believe Foundation
  • BID 2 BEAT AIDS
  • City of Hope
  • Designers Against AIDS
  • DKMS
  • DoSomething.org
  • Feeding America
  • GRAMMY Foundation
  • Kids Wish Network
  • Live Earth
  • Mission Australia
  • MusiCares
  • Raising Malawi
  • Red Cross
  • Shriners Hospitals for Children
  • Stand Up To Cancer
  • UNICEF

In addition, to Rihanna getting “Woman Of The Year” she is getting ready for her well-received August Harper’s Bazaar cover, in which she talks openly about the disturbed aftermath of her toxic relationship with Chris Brown, and displays her smaller than ever figure in a sinuous Calvin Klein dress.
