Seann William Scott has split from his model fiancee Lindsay Frimodt after the two have been engaged for almost a year. The American Pie star proposed to former Victoria’s Secret beauty Frimodt on St. Valentine’s Day.
Scott’s representative has confirmed the news to Us Magazine, and a source insists there is no hard feelings between the former lovers.
“They remain friends. It was a very amicable split,” an insider said.
Last April, Scott, who has previously been linked to actresses January Jones and Jaime King, revealed he was terrified Frimodt would dump him if she saw how vulgar and clueless his movie characters were.
“I don’t how I got a girl like my fiancee. She hadn’t seen American Pie, thank god. Otherwise, I probably wouldn’t be engaged,” he said.
Frimodt is a model and has appeared in the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in 2002 and 2003. Her advertisements include clients like Donna Karan, Michael Kors, Giorgio Armani, Narciso Rodriguez, Zac Posen, and Calvin Klein, and she has appeared in the pages of Elle, Marie Claire, and Vogue.
She was featured in Justin Timberlake’s video for “I’m Lovin’ It,” as well as Amr Diab’s video for “Lealy Nahary.”
Scott’s first commercial success came with the 1999 movie American Pie, as Steve Stifler, a role he reprised in three sequels, American Pie 2 (2001), American Wedding (2003), and American Reunion (2012).
As Scott demanded more screen time, he was granted the lead role in the third film American Wedding.
Though the character of “Steve Stifler” propelled the actor into the public consciousness, Scott has mentioned in a variety of interviews his fear of typecasting, which has led him to choose to play different types of characters post-American Pie, such as a hapless nerd in the film Final Destination and a harmless stoner character in Dude, Where’s My Car?, alongside Ashton Kutcher.
