After dating for more than two years, Sofia Vergara has left stockbroker Nick Loeb, but the breakup doesn’t come as a surprise because several sources report that the couple have been fighting a lot recently.
The couple split during the weekend following a series of arguments and the actress attended Monday’s Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in Manhattan by herself.
“Sofia was confiding in friends at the ball that she and Nick have split,” an insider told The New York Post. “They have been fighting a lot recently and have been on the brink of splitting many times. It is not yet clear if they are over for good, but they are done as a couple for now.”
Another source told the paper that the relationship between Sofia and Nick is crumbling due to her increasing international fame and success.
Earlier this week, news of Vergara’s new roles in “Machete Kills” and “The Smurfs” spread like wildfire online.
The sultry actress is set to be a sexy madame in Robert Rodríguez’s all-star-cast film, “Machete Kills.”
Vergara will be joining Mel Gibson and Mexican actor Demian Bichir as well as Michelle Rodríguez and Jessica Alba.
Fans can expect the audience to see Vergara decked out in leather playing the naughty Madame Desdemona.
The couple first met at a Golden Globes party in 2010 and were together ever since.
