Actress Stacey Dash, the star of VH1’s “Single Ladies” and the enduring 1995 comedy “Clueless,” has finally divorced the man who she alleges has brought her years of domestic abuse and violence.
As reported by TMZ, the 45-year-old actress has been granted a divorce from husband Emmanuel Xuereb.
A Los Angeles County judge last week signed off on papers making Stacey a single woman.
This was Dash’s third marriage. She was previously married to Brian Lovell (1999–2005) and James Maby (2005–2006). The actress first announced her intent to split from Emmanuel in 2010.
Appearing on actor Jamie Foxx’s radio program, the “Clueless” actress said she and her husband had “grown apart.”
According to KGET, Dash wed Xuereb in 2007 and filed a petition three years later to terminate the marriage on the very same day she took out a restraining order against him.
The restraining order, obtained by TMZ, stated Emmanuel had hit Stacey in the face, head and body during their marriage, although she was too scared to report him to cops.
It also included an allegation that Dash, a mother of two from a previous relationship, was once pinned to a bed by a booze-fueled Xuereb who told her it would be the worst night of her life.
