Suge Knight was arrested for marijuana possession and for outstanding traffic warrants in Las Vegas, but the big issue he faces is driving on a suspended license after he was stopped for making an unsafe lane change.
The former CEO and co-founder of Death Row Records, Marion “Suge” Knight was driving a Bentley when he was picked up for the traffic violations.
Police searched his vehicle and found marijuana. The state of Nevada has a zero tolerance law for any illegal drug possession. It doesn’t help that he was already on probation.
Suge Knight is also the founder and current CEO of Black Kapital Records, and has been credited for signing such talents as Tupac Shakur, Dr. Dre, and Snoop Dogg.
The controversial Knight has been in and out of prison, a number of times over the last few years for mostly drug and assault issues. One of the most notable controversies surrounding Knight is the fact that his girlfriend who was supposed to testify against him disappeared, after he beat her outside a Las Vegas club in 2008 while reportedly high and brandishing a knife.
Before the girlfriend was scheduled to testify she went missing, leading authorities to believe Knight was involved, though no formal charges have ever been brought against him. Meanwhile, as the girl is still listed as missing, the assault charges against him in the case were dropped due to witness problems on behalf of the prosecutions side of the case.
