Suge Knight Arrested Traffic Warrant - The rap mogul was at a diner near Universal Studios.
Suge Knight was arrested early Saturday on a traffic warrant. Authorities say Suge Knight was arrested on the traffic warrant as he left a diner. His vehicle was parked near Universal Studios.
Marion "Suge" Knight, who has a long arrest record, was released about an hour after his arrest on Saturday, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff's Sgt. Shawn Ruda. Ruda said that the rap mogul was stopped by deputies who ran his name through computers. That's when they discovered he had a minor warrant in Beverly Hills.
Ruda says Knight was not doing anything wrong when he was stopped and agreed to talk to the deputies. He was brought to West Hollywood where he was cited and released. He will have to appear in court within two months.
Suge Knight is the co-founder and former CEO of Death Row Records. The record label rose to dominate the rap charts after Dr. Dre's breakthrough album The Chronic in 1992. After several years of chart successes for artists including Tupac Shakur, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and Tha Dogg Pound, Death Row Records stagnated after Knight's incarceration on parole violation charges in September 1996.
