Taylor Swift and J.Lo are set to collaborate for a new track that will appear on a new album due out early next year. Last month, the two ladies were on stage singing together at the Staples Center before they had an idea for a new album.
“Both of them are huge fans of each other and excited to work together!” a source told Us Weekly, who broke the story.
There are no more details about the type of song the pair are planning to sing together, but it will part of JLo’s eighth album.
Swift, 23, and Lopez, 44, reportedly finalized the plan after the “Selena” star appeared as Swift’s last guest performer on her final Red Tour show. At the Aug. 25 performance, they sang Lopez’s 2002 hit “Jenny from the Block.”
After the concert, Swift tweeted: “Sang Jenny From the Block with @JLo tonight at Staples Center. STILL FANGIRLING OUT ABOUT IT.”
She recently released behind-the-scenes footage of her concerts at the Staples.
During a huddle before the concert, Lopez is heard saying: “Thank you so much for allowing our family to coming here and becoming part of your family. To create a beautiful moment, thank you, Taylor, for being so gracious and beautiful and loving me enough to have me here tonight. I feel very blessed to be sharing the stage with you and I just hope that everybody has the best show that they could ever have.”
Lopez is currently working on season 13 of Fox’s hit shot “American Idol,” joining fellow judges Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr. on the panel. She will also be collaborating with rapper Chris Brown in the album.
