Tenacious D New Video Released After Six-Year Hiatus

It’s been more than six years since heavy metal duo Tenacious D released an album. A world tour has been announced and set to begin in May. This isn’t like any other band, it’s the greatest group of all time.

Tenacious D is made up of comic actors Jack Black and Kyle Gass.

The band has released a promotional video for their upcoming album, “Rize of the Fenix,” which does sound interesting.

The video is six minutes and features cameos by Jimmy Kimmel, Tim Robbins, Foo Fighters front man Dave Grohl, “Extra” host Maria Menounos and Val Kilmer.

“Some called them kings, others called them gods, but one thing everyone agreed on was that Tenacious D was more talented than the Beatles, Stones and Zeppelin combined, but when their film ‘Pick of Destiny’ failed to perform at the box office, these two king-gods tasted mortality,” deadpans Menounos in a mock “Extra” segment.

It all gets silly from there, including the reunion and much of it reminds people of “School of Rock.”

Stay tuned: “Rize of the Fenix” will be released on May 15, and Tenacious D’s world tour kicks off on May 23.
