Todd Bridges Divorce – Going In Different Directions

Diff’rent Strokes star Todd Bridges wanted to beat the media and tabloids by announcing the news of his divorce from his wife of fourteen years, Dori A. Bridges, on his blog because they are going in different directions.

“Im going to beat the media to this me and my wife our divorcing our lives are going different directions with we remain good friends,” Bridges wrote on his official Twitter page on May 25, adding, “We have a child and we both have his best interests at heart and know this is best for him and us thank you all for understanding.”

The couple have one son, Spencir Bridges, who was born on July 16, 1998. Spencir is also a child actor and appeared in the 2007 film, “Daddy Day Camp” and in an episode of “iCarly.”

“She’s a great mother im glad to have had the years to know her and have a great kid with her as we know, people grow apart and we did,” Bridges said of his longtime partner.

Bridges is said to be the first African-American child actor to have a recurring role on a successful TV series, “The Waltons.” He also appeared on “Little House on the Prairie,” “Roots” and “Fish.”

He rose to fame on the long-running sitcom, “Diff’rent Strokes,” portraying Arnold Jackson, the older brother of Willis, who was portrayed by the late Gary Coleman.

On the series, the brothers were taken in by a rich Park Avenue businessman Phillip Drummond (Conrad Bain) and his daughter Kimberly (Dana Plato).

In the first two seasons, Charlotte Rae starred as the family’s housekeeper, Mrs. Garrett, before starring in her spin-off series, “The Facts of Life.”
