Rapper “Too Short” was arrested in Los Angeles, on Wednesday morning, for drug possession and suspicion of DUI.
The recording artist, born Todd Anthony Shaw, was reportedly pulled over for a traffic violation, but when police approached his vehicle, they believed the 46-year-old was under the influence.
Then, when they attempted to give him a breathalyzer test, he took off running. However, that did not last to long.
“He was stopped for DUI investigation, ran from officers and actually tripped and fell,” Lt. Marc Reina of the Los Angeles Police Department told the New York Daily News. “He got maybe half a block and was taken into custody there.”
Sources told TMZ that Too Short came in just over the 0.08 legal limit, blowing 0.09, once police were able to administer a sobriety test, and police confirmed to the NYDN that the rapper attempted to dump the narcotics he was a carrying while in the back of the police cruiser.
The “Up All Nite” record label owner is no stranger to legal issues. According to the Los Angeles Times, Too Short was arrested twice on suspicion of DUI and drug possession charges in Las Vegas in 2009, and in 2010, he was arrested on misdemeanor battery charges after a performance at an Idaho nightclub.
