With a history of health problems, there is news that actor-comedian Tracy Morgan was hospitalized this past weekend in Denver, Colorado, where he was scheduled to perform.
Morgan’s reps say he had to cancel a stand-up appearance after being admitted to the hospital for what was called flu-like symptoms and dehydration on Saturday and was released several hours later.
According to reports, Morgan was wheel chaired to his plane at the Denver airport to catch a flight home to New York City to get some rest.
Back in January of this year Morgan was hospitalized after collapsing at an awards ceremony at the Sundance Film Festival after looking disoriented while giving a speech. His publicist attributed the incident to a combination of exhaustion and altitude sickness.
In 1996 Morgan was diagnosed with diabetes, which at first he did not manage properly, refusing to diet and take medication. He decided to take doctors orders though after suffering a scare with a 104 degree temperature on the set of ’30 Rock’.
In December of 2010 Morgan received a kidney transplant due to complications attributed to his diabetes. The kidney was donated by ex-girlfriend Tanisha Hall.
Morgan has also been arrested for drunken driving twice, one in 2006 and again in 2007.
