R&B singer Usher and ex-wife, Tameka Foster, have been embroiled in an ugly custody battle in an Atlanta court over the former couples two sons, with an allegation that she spit on his girlfriend with out of control rage.
On Monday Usher first had to emotionally defend himself against photos, Foster’s lawyers showed the court of him partying in Europe last February, and that it was the lifestyle the singer prefers over caring for his own children.
Usher became so emotional during testimony that the judge suggested he let his lawyer speak for him.
Usher was later able to fire a shot back at Foster by describing a mental fit of rage she suffered one day when he showed up to her home to pick up the boys with his new girlfriend accompanying him.
“She wanted to fight,” he told the court. “[She said], ‘I’m gonna kick your ass. Bitch, get out of the car. How dare you bring this woman into my subdivision and my house?”
He went on to say, “She continued to spit. At this point she pulled the door open, tried to swing at her.”
He described to the court that he tried to block Foster from Miguel, but she struck him instead, he said he continued to plead with Foster to calm down, but instead “she threw a plate of food at the car.”
During earlier testimony Tameka herself admitted telling Grace “I will f**k you up.”
Usher filed divorce papers in 2009 after he revealed that the couple had been living separately for over a year. Foster is now seeking full custody of the two boys while Usher is seeking increased visitation rights.
