Fashion designer Vera Wang, and her husband of 23-years, Arthur Becker have decided that a separation is best for them.
On Wednesday, July 11, Mario Grauso, Wang’s company president, gave a statement which was first reported by WWD.
“Vera Wang and Arthur Becker have mutually and amicably agreed to separate,” said Grauso. “They remain devoted parents to their two daughters.”
Grauso added, “They will not let this impact the running of the company. They have worked too hard to build it up.”
Wang and her husband have two daughters together, Cecilia and Josephine. Cecilia, 21, currently goes to the University of Pennsylvania and Josephine, 18, attends The Chapin all-girl’s private day school in the Manhattan, yet she has plans to attend Harvard University this fall.
It is quite possible that the couple has had this planned for a while, and they were just waiting for their youngest daughter to get into college before they published it to the media.
Becker has his own businesses, but he also involved in Vera’s designer business. Vera is a friend of the Kardashian family and designed three gowns for Kim’s wedding to Kris Humpfreys last year, and one for Khloe when she got married in 2009 to Lamar Odom.
Neither Becker nor Wang has officially filed for divorce.
