Whoopi Goldberg will guest star on ABC’s new supernatural drama series “666 Park Avenue” on December 2.
The multi-talented performer will play Maris Elder, a woman who hypnotizes Jane, played by Rachael Taylor, and sends her traveling back in time to 1927 in a bid to find out where she disappeared down the spiral staircase, according to ABC.
Executive producer David Wilcox, said that the writers wrote the part of Maris Elder specifically for the Oscar winner. Wilcox said:
“(Whoopi will play) a mysterious resident of the Drake, who helps Jane unlock the secret of the building’s true evil origins … Whoopi’s an incredible actor, so when we heard that she was a horror fan, we wrote the role for her.”
“Her time-travel adventures unlock secrets long hidden in Peter Kramer’s apartment, where his wife was murdered, and shows Jane that her family has a dark legacy that’s tangled with The Drake’s history,” the network said in a statement.
Goldberg is currently most popular as a co-host on the talk show “The View.” However, she is a well-known American actress, comedian, singer-songwriter, author, and political activist.
She won an Oscar her role in the 1990 romantic fantasy film “Ghost,” as psychic Oda Mae Brown.
